We moved from Surrey to Wales in 2018, newlywed with our first child on the way. We had been coming to this area for years on holiday and used to love camping up and down the welsh coast. Having always hankered for a cafe or B&B, we had the opportinity to start a glamping business when Nick's parents moved to a smallholding with room to accommodate our vision.

This part of Wales has so much to offer, so we designed and built The Hiveaway so others can enjoy it too whilst staying somewhere memorable. Since moving here we have transformed the land, planted a small orchard, given growing veg a good go, had two babies, converted an old cow shed to live in, we are continually learning Welsh and hatched our own chickens. Nick's parents also have 8 Alpacas who can sometimes be seen having their walk. We love discovering new walks with our 4 year old and 18 month old and two Cocker Spaniels, Luna and Baloo. Ffynnone Waterfalls is a favourite where the dogs get to splash around in the water and Coed Y Foel Woodland Trust.

Living here, we feel away from it all but can easily enjoy the hustle and bustle of the many local towns which are all bursting with fantastic independent eateries and shops. Some of our favourites are listed in the Explore section and of course we are happy to recommend more places and other things to do.

Once you arrive here, there is a Welcome Shed where you can find your key safe and an honesty jar cupboard stocked with logs, charcoal, firelighters and kindling. There are wheelbarrows to help with your luggage or if  you've got lots we are happy to help take it up to the cabin on our buggy. Once you're settled stick the kettle on and relax.
